I don’t know how this happened and I don’t know what may have happened?!?!?
But it seems that sometimes I can’t seem to initiate or access so many varied “skills and competencies” that I’ve developed and used while doing “tasks” or “projects” throughout much of my adult life.

So… I’m trying to increase, broaden and deepen my awareness as I’m using these skills, “ways,” “competencies” and capacities … to become more aware of the continuing aspects of being able to activate and use each of them!

I’m learning to “observe” myself in “action” … noticing what skills, competencies and capacities I’m actually using during any tasks I’m engaging in.

And here are some of the important competencies that I’m observing myself actually using… PROOF that I can still do these.

Even though I may not clearly realize that I CONTINUE to have these varying degrees of these skills, I can actually watch and observe myself engaging in these ways many times each day!

Entering through… “Portals to Possibilities”

This “exploration” all started in October 2023 when I was doing a very complex, difficult, multiday task … and as I was working away and actually struggling as doing it, I was SHOCKED to “hear” this “Poor Little Buttercup” song (H.M.S. Pinafore starts at 40 seconds into video ) pop into my mind or awareness …

“I’m called little Buttercup …
poor little Buttercup …
though I can never know why …
I’m called poor little “Buttercup” …
poor little Buttercup
and I don’t really know why!”

I was so shocked to hear that sentiment! I shook my head in disbelief!

And so, to offer myself an alternate awareness, I started watching what specific skills and competencies I was using as I was doing that challenging task and other tasks and projects throughout the next few weeks and months!

What a pleasant surprise to notice myself using ALL of these positive “ways”…
proof of continuing skills, competencies and capacities!

Simply . . . “yes
Simply saying . . . “yes”
to activating, energizing,
awakening, living and sharing
THESE positive “qualities”
and “ways of being”
Simply … “yes”

And so …
As I “played” more with these ideas,
that original tune to the diminishing “Poor little buttercup” song
being playfully transformed into this empowering “new song”
singing these new lyrics using with the same “buttercup” tune

So …
may each of us CONTINUE to enter this
“Portal to Possibilities”
Even though, at times we may not realize
that we CONTINUE to have competencies
that we STILL have these competencies,
we probably do!
Walking through this
“Portal to Possibilities”
with senses of “tenaciousness” and “quiet determination”

Recognizing
the abundance of
continuing capacities, competencies, skill and “ways” we each have …
so many interesting and engaging ideas and possibilities
happily . . . confidently . . . and courageously

May each and every one of us
myself included
increasingly realize and have confidence in
the abundance of skills, competencies, positive qualities and ways
we have developed in numerous circumstances and situations
throughout our lifetimes

And may we each continue to access and live
these wonderful “ways of being”
