Now: TODAY is the moment, the story is NOW

The importance of coming back to the present moment…
…now…
each of us living our lives
with direction, purpose,  goodness, kindness, understanding, courage, insight and wisdom
fully present in each moment…

Expanding on some variations of lines from the post and song…
“Today while the blossoms still cling to the vine”

The emphasis in these pages
is NOT intended to be  the “my”…not at all
please think of  the word “my,” as if reading to yourself…

it’s the idea of each one of us
being present in the NOW,

instead of rambling around in the past or the future

A youtube slide show of these pages… (with music too!  : )  )

I hope that some of these ideas might be helpful or resonate with others….
and with myself too…
reminders to shift out of  habitual thinking  patterns
that involve rambling in the past and future,
and shifting into living
in this present moment of “now”

Note: The pages in this post use the word  “my”….I decided to make similar pages using the word “you,” so it’s not about “me,” even though these original pages aren’t  intended to be only about  “me.”  I’ll post the revised  pages and youtube video later today,  separately…as  “Today is YOUR moment,  YOUR moment is NOW”

Added note: I made several additional page to show myself what happens when the mind rambles around in the past or the future….the image  of “now” is obscured and  loses it’s definition, crispness, colors, textures…similar to how one might miss the crispness of each present moment…I think the additional pages are helpful, but I’ll make a separate post out of those few pages, because I want these  “now”  pages to stand on their own….crisply, clearly and in focus.  I hope these pages are helpful to others…

    • Thanks…I’m getting to the point that it’s kind of fun to make those videos….it’s a new medium, so a bit to learn, but I like it…and I seem to pay attention to what the videos “say”…..now THAT would be nice if I’d pay attention and follow my own ideas/suggestions…. : )

Enjoyed your video! Found my way here via a zendictive link! Great site you have here. Will plan to explore more in the future.

So important to live in the now. PBS had a great program of a man who raised wild turkeys from eggs and what one point he admired the turkeys’ ability to stay in the now and there ability to enjoy the present. It was a very informative program and really brought home the point of why we should not assume we are totally superior to every other animal.

    • Happy you found your way here….and that you liked the video. I’ve just learned how to do those, on my own, in the past few months. It’s gotten to be quite a large site…hope you enjoy exploring it.
I’ll look for that PBS program…sounds like it makes several important and special points. Thanks for the tip!

    • I thought you might like this one…. your ongoing affirmations about “now” are helpful…I seem to have some challenges with mindfulness/now-ness…but am progressing. I’ve even had a several challenging opportunities to practice now-ness today….life is giving me opportunities to practice.

  5. My students upload to YouTube all the time for their presentations and I still don’t know how. I will have to figure this out. So cool.

    • A few months ago, my 24 year old daughter wrote a very specific, step by step list for me on how to create a powerpoint (easy) and how to create a youtube account (easy) and how to upload them to youtube (also easy, with step by step directions) . Maybe I’ll ask her to review that step by step list and I could put them into a post for others to refer to, too. (I still have to look at the list at times)

I like what you have shared here. I do pretty well in some areas but really struggle in other ways, such as procrastinating. I think of all of the time wasted when I could have accomplished a goal ages ago..Hmm! Still working on that. It is easier for me to be kind to others..

    • Oh…I just found this comment…I’ve been a bit lost within my own blog at times. : )
I also have certain specialty areas that I procrastinate about…as you say, it is a waste of time, but I still seem to avoid some “tasks”. And, yes, it does seem to be easier to be kind to others….
