True to my own North Star… but also, in this moment, I am….

The ideas on this image/page  came from the weekly Just One Thing (JOT) newsletter,      “Lower the Pressure  by Rick Hansen, author of Buddha’s Brain and the newly published book Just One Thing.

I like that idea of being “true to my own North Star”…
a vision and aspiration for direction in  life,
but also keeping grounded in the awareness
that in this moment,
we are likely to be…

“safe enough, fed enough and loved enough”

just as we are….

I find the ideas on that  page so reassuring and comforting, that I decided to split up the individual ideas, which I originally posted in September,  onto separate pages, as  a slideshow/video.

I added some gentle music….
actually a lullaby…
and have been enjoying it for a few weeks….

So here it is…
 ready to be shared…

I hope it brings
some comfort, warmth and reassurance

to anyone else who might benefit from those….

a short, 50 second youtube video of that page….

I hope that each of us can find that North Star
but also be able to feel
safe enough…
fed enough….
loved enough…
  good enough….
just as we are…

My thanks to Rick Hanson PhD,  ( neuropsychologist)  for the continuing inspiration of his ideas and insights…I highly recommend his books, Buddha’s Brain and Just One Thing, and his weekly newsletter, Just One Thing. He also has a huge website WiseBrain, that he shares with Rich Mendius, a neurologist….Wise Brain is a treasure chest of information  and resources. (Links to books and newsletters are in the beginning of this post)

  1. A very soothing post, Pocket. The word “enough” puts everything into perspective. Have a good school week.

Beautiful slide show. Love the background of the night sky.

Paula (Reflections from a Cloudy Mirror) ends most of her posts by wishing readers “enough.”

    • Thanks…I love that night sky, too… I seem to use it a lot. I used another sky photo for the background of a beautiful poem that hugmamma wrote/posted yesterday… (it’s up in the “other” tab…. https://pocketperspectives.wordpress.com/other/believe-in-yourself/ ) She gave her okay to share it…might put it to the main column, ’cause I like it so much… I think what she says in the poem is “important.” (and I think the “amazing things” one is important too…is that okay to post in the main column some day?…I added your name to it)
      I haven’t thought a lot about the word “enough”…but I think I’ll start… I’ll head over to Reflections from a Cloudy Mirror and check that out… : )
