Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park, Alaska….an amazing place! As viewed from the explore.org Live Cams…AMAZING!

Holly…an incredible mother!
~
A short video, below, taken yesterday, of Holly, sharing her fish with the pushy little yearling cub!…what calm and patient generosity she shows! The smaller spring cub didn’t quite get in on eating that fish…the yearling didn’t share!

Otis!!!!
(I think that’s Otis…hard to tell without seeing his other ear)
A very large male bear who sits all day, every day in his “office”
…catching and eating dozens of fish!
That is….until “Lurch” arrives and takes over that “office”
and Otis retreats to “the jacuzzi…”
but, even in the jacuzzi, Otis catches more fish than Lurch does!

Brooks Falls…
The photo on the cover of the book, Bearable,
a book I had created many years ago.
(When I “wrote” that book, I had no idea that the photo was taken at Brooks Falls! I’d never even heard of Brooks Falls!…well, I sure have now!!
I didn’t have permission for using the photos in the book, so only used it with the kids I taught….maybe some day I’ll find a special bear photographer with inspiring photos?…maybe so….???? The book really helped the kids in my class…and might be helpful to many more!)
Bearable, the book I created for the kids I taught…
encouraging and nurturing a sense of connection, persistence, strength and fortitude

The bears will be leaving in the next few weeks…
only a few more weeks to peek in on, and to learn from, these astounding animals!
I encourage you to visit that web cam for inspiring “views”
