Creating ripples…. contributing, making a difference

Creating ripples….
noticing where there is a need
becoming more aware of opportunities to help or support
developing the generosity to share what we have
putting in the effort to enrich, to nurture, to encourage
having the patience to offer in ways that help
living with the courage to persist as needed
…creating ripples….

a slide show presentation of those images….
….creating ripples…..

may we all develop and nurture,
the kindness, generosity and compassion,
insight and awareness,
patience and persistent effort
to create a multitude of ripples in our everyday lives…

An added note…..Saturday is my brother’s birthday…may he feel safe and happy, nurtured and protected…may those who are able toΒ  create ripples direct them that way…may we all create ripples in our own and other people’s lives.

Such a wonderfully encouraging, instructive, and inspiring post here. I am reblogging it to enhance my post for today’s Lenten Journey (from Cloaked Monk), okay? I simply cannot resist. This message is so very much a part of what I pray for all the time!

Beautiful Kathy! Love the images and words as usual. I am trying to come up with a service or idea for my new website where I have my recently published book, that will help others and had thought of booklets to distribute for free or a very nominal price, or perhaps I will offer counseling again, not sure yet, but I trust I will be guided. Your post today is a confirmation for me. You created a ripple for me, so thank you!. πŸ™‚

Loved it… It reminds me of the ripples of the mind I talk about when teaching.. Something i would love to share with your permission of course.

    • ripples of the mind….that’s an interesting image…do you have a post(s)expanding on that?…if so, might you add a link here to that post?
I see from your own blog, which I hadn’t found before(and which looks very special!), that you have posts about perspectives and reflections…both so important.
Please feel free to share links to any of your posts here in Pocket Perspectives…and to share posts you find here ( or in Reflections from a Friend ) with others…that’s what it’s all for…

Thank you for extending the connection to ‘Pocket Perspective’ and the ‘Reflectionsfromafriend’ When I wrote about the ripples of the mind.. Yoga which is a ‘practice to still the ripples of the mind’ describe the sage Patanjali. Vritti a sanskrit word means ripples…
The images you have remind me of our thoughts and its patterns. Depending on what thoughts enter our minds the effects it has on one’s emotions and actions.
You have very beautifully put them together and when I saw them I immediately thought of Vrittis and its effect and would be a great way to help students understand.

    • I’ve been spending several hours a day studying “mind and mental factors” for the past 4 weeks…similar ideas from another tradition. I find it remarkable to study the various workings of the mind from these perspectives….remarkable insight there.
The “pull weeds” top tab has many pages/booklets that tie in with these ideas, although I created them before I knew about the actual teachings etc. Most of the “booklets” I’ve created are in the “youtube channel” tab at the top ( )

  14. Thank you so much Art…what a lovely thought. (I’ve gotten very far behind on both blogs and haven’t kept up with acknowledging honors….in a few weeks, things will settle down and I’ll respond to them…such kind offers from others…)

  15. So much better to create ripples than waves…isn’t it?

    Peace to you

I really like the sentiments of this video…especially the idea of overlapping ripples showing how our connections are bi-directional! Thanks for sharing this…

    Lovely and very well said!

  18. Absolutely charming, Kathy! Sometimes when you’re the centre, you don’t notice how your smallest action can ripple out and affect others but this presentation demonstrates the wave effect beautifully! πŸ™‚

    • Thank you….and thank you for your own “reflection”… the idea that when we’re at the “center,” we can’t notice how the ripples go out and effect others… I think that’s an important awareness to keep in mind….and a helpful “image” too…

I'd love to "hear" your ideas about this....
