Sometimes, when I’m tired, this song comes to mind…the wish to go home and rest….
Show me the way to go home
I’m tired and I want to go to bed…
Where ever I may roam
On land or sea or foam
You will always hear me singing this song,
Show me the way to go home…
A few days ago, it occurred to me that there are other ways of going “home.”
“Home” could also be thought of as a quiet, still spot within oneself,
And so….
to pause, breath and find that quiet, gentle spot,
always there,
peaceful, calm and quiet…
a lovely spot…
within each one of us…
home…
The path in that first photo…
a beautiful little trail…
leads to the reflecting pond in the stillness photo….
the path is peaceful and lovely
and so is the pond….
and so, to remember
we can access that peaceful spot within…
and, as in life,
the path
may be as beautiful
as the possible destination…
I sometimes find that music provides easier access to a quieter state of mind. Thich Nhat Hanh, a Vietnamese Buddhist monk, writes simple wonderful poems and songs that help access those quiet states…one of his pieces… “I have arrived, I am home….”
I have arrived, I am home,
In the here and in the now,
I am solid, I am free
I am solid, I am free
In the ultimate I dwell,
In the infinite I dwell
I have arrived, I am home
I am free…

Link to a similar post, a different “Show me the way” that includes a youtube video of the song… a great song to have in one’s repertoire…the post was written before I realized that I could access “home” within……
Love the last poem. Here. Now. What else is there?

This was perfect for me. I’ve been “returning home” lately, both physically and spiritually.
I love the timing on this one….perfect! Thank you!
