Last month, I read some amazing ideas in Ken McCloud’s online newsletter, Unfettered Mind. A few of the ideas, in particular, had a strong impact!
leading to a deeper and broader understanding of “awareness”

I thought I might share my own “take” on these ideas with others who stop by Pocket Perspectives.
I’m not sure how much I do “understand” these ideas, but I’ll share my beginning attempts at that. Perhaps others might resonate with this awareness, too?
To help myself “understand,” I used the memory and image of the sky and the reflection of the sky in small mountain lake that I hiked to a few weeks ago…I find that some approximation of a deeper understanding of “awareness” seems to resonate when I imagine this scene or look at this photo.

I noticed that by just “opening” to a basic, broad awareness of these analogies and ideas, and NOT thinking too “logically” about them, that some understanding seemed to arise.
The use of the analogies of space, silence and stillness seems to lead to a broader awareness of “awareness”… if that makes any sense?

awareness
an “experience” of awareness…perhaps, the sky
a reflection of awareness…perhaps, through words and concepts

0bjects….sounds…movement
….thoughts, feelings or sensations….
all of those arising, abiding for awhile and departing,
comings and goings, comings and goings
And “behind” those comings and goings?
steady, consistent and ongoing
space, silence, stillness and awareness

Love these ideas, and the way you interpreted them. 🙂

I hope the ideas resonate… they sure have with me! I find that accessing a “sense” of space, stillness and silence to be extremely helpful in accessing or connecting with a sense of “basic awareness”… whatever “awareness” might be.
