I became totally obsessed with a baby owl cam last year. I have to look at the baby critters with care 😉 but really lovely post 🙂

Thank you, Carol….
Do you have the link for that owl cam? I love watching baby animals…. but I’ve learned to be careful too… the baby eagle Phoenix, from 2011… he died just days before he was ready to fledge… I sobbed for days, and grieved so deeply for him… and so did thousands of others who had been watching his growth and family. But I gained a deep connection, respect and appreciation for eagles, and all of nature…that I continue to carry with me…so that’s good. So, I’ll continue to watch this little family, too…. 🙂

Joss, there are big concerns about the health of mom Hornby eagle… especially since last evening and night. Maj, from Mars (she helped with Phoenix a few years ago) and was on the Hornby chat with AJL last night… big concerns. Mom is more alert today, but still big concerns,,, There is one egg in nest, and another seeemed to be on the way, but not yet. http://www.hornbyeagles.com/HEGPSchat.htm
Berry Georgia eagle is growing well…clumsily peeking over side of nest.
Very cold in Iowa (??) at Decorah eagle nest… parents still sitting on nest… I read on Hornby chat that there was a hatch this morning, I ut can’t see pip.
I love watching the eagles…they are soooo special…. but goodness, what a hard life they sometimes have…goodness, goodness, goodness……………..but an elegant life too!

oh, so many ups and downs. anticipation, heartbreak – nature has it all. Animals often have a hard life and yet, they go on, and never seem to grumble or complain! There is joy and being part of life, of watching growth and even of grieving for loss. We heal by being part of the natural world. i so believe that.
