Kindness opens hearts: that of the giver and (generally) the receiver.

    • yes…. kindness really can help to open hearts. I guess if we’re the “giver”…we can simply offer kindness and be aware that how others might receive may vary, depending upon timing and receptivity. And if we’re the receiver, to be “open” to, and appreciative of, receiving from others… I guess so….
( We saw a movie last night about abundant kindness and connections…. “Saving Luna,” on PBS… a deeply moving, heartfelt movie/documentary about Luna, a young whale who wandered, by himself, into a remote fjord area in British Columbia, and the exquisite, deep connections he made with so many of the people of that area …)

I missed seeing the PBS program. When there is a repeat I would love to watch it.

I have had rare instances when I have offered kindness and it has not been accepted. I had a waitress return a $20.00 gift for Christmas as she didn’t feel comfortable accepting gifts. Very strange, as she also had issues when someone brought her flowers for her birthday. She is a very nice person but is not comfortable with receiving.

    • I think that movie might still be being shown, at least in the SF PBS area.
And yes, receiving kindness can be hard for some people… I’ve noticed that some people, myself included, squirm a bit when compliments are received from others….isn’t that odd?… compliments are like gifts of verbal kindness…and yet…hard to accept at times….
