Ahhhh….November….throughout the next few weeks and months, our minds may turn to enjoying the bounty of the harvest…enjoying choosing, buying, preparing, cooking, sharing and eating a variety and abundance of amazing foods with our families and friends!

~

May we continually be aware and offer our thanks to the many hardworking farmers… local, around the country and all over the world……for all that they offer to the health, happiness and well being of ourselves, our friends, our families and people everywhere…

We’re all so interdependent…..
interdependent within the forces of nature, the earth, the air, the sun….
and interdependent with, and among, each other!
the farmer, the tractor manufacturers, the truckers, the distribution center workers…
the grocery store and Farmers’ Market stockers and clerks,
There are soooooo many people connected to even ONE potato
that sits in that pan as it’s about to be mashed!
It’s truly remarkable how connected we all are!

Farmers on both small local farms and larger farms are such incredibly hard workers….day after day!…month after month! ….year after year! ….  whether they’re “owners” of the farms, “owner/workers” or “farmworkers” on those farms…whether from “here” or “there” or  “far away”….they work so hard and offer us so much!  May we nurture a deep sense of appreciation for all farmers….  for their incredibly hard work and abundant contributions to all of our lives!

And so…today…tomorrow….this week…this month…every single month of the year…may we offer our “thank you” to, and feel a deep sense of appreciation of,  all  the farmers in the world!  It’s not just on the ONE day in November…Thanksgiving Day here in America…. that we can offer our thanks.  We can nurture a deep sense of appreciation for  farmers each and every day of every single year….and perhaps we can begin with…today!
