Shantideva’s Prayer
Shantideva
8th Century Indian Buddhist Scholar
I’ve read that this is a daily prayer of The DalaiLama,
filled with tender and heartfelt wishes

a compassionate, loving, courageous and noble sentiment…
“for as long as space remains,
for as long as sentient beings remain,
until then may I too remain
to dispel the miseries of the world”

Hello Kathy my friend, What significant & meaningful Pocket Perspectives for me to return to. I have been missing your influence in my life and am happy & grateful to be able to return. So glad you are here.
I recall reading this prayer in 1970 when I first began my studies in eastern philosophies.& prophets. it has the very same impact on me today..
Deep sigh…… and no words..

So happy to have you here….
It is a beautiful and powerful prayer… I wish I had known it in 1970… I put it here today, partly because we’ve been going through some unexpected health crises with our beloved golden retriever Nali
This morning, I had read your own post from today and had done a copy paste of it and emailed it to myself…our beloved Nali died this afternoon and your words “spoke” to me….thank you. ( the previous 3 posts contain bits about Nali…a lovely, tenderhearted friend We are soooooo sad this evening…such an unexpected loss… thank you for the words in your own post. )
I’ll link your post here in case others are interested…. I hope my soul shines brightly again soon…. http://barefootbaroness.org/2013/06/30/sunday-soul-shining/

My dearest Kathy & family.
I am saddened to hear about the loss of your family member.
Words fall short on expressing my sorrow for your loss.
Remember this please that Faithful Friends always leave paw prints on your heart.
And to Nali please: Run free now precious pup, and go play with angels
Thank you so much for the linking my post Kathy. That you were able to connect with this post and take away something like I ALWAYS do with your Pocket Perspectives warms my heart.
You touch my heart in ways that absolutely astound me. I love your soul.
Gentlest of gentle hugs my friend. ~
