One step at a time….balanced, steady, calm…patience, persistence and perseverance…

some helpful encouragement  I received from a friend…
one day at a time….
one step at a time…
one moment at a time….
remaining balanced, steady and calm

one day at a time, one step at a time

~

One step at a time…
coming back again and again,
to that quiet, steady sense of patience, persistence and perseverance

one step at a time….that’s enough for now…one step at a time

Yay! Another important message conveyed by means of great graphics. I love your stuff 🙂

    • Thanks tt… it’s an ongoing reminder for me…and others, too. (btw that wonderful beach is on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington)
And you’re a house fix it person…oddly enough, after posting these pages, I decided to channel some uncomfortable nervous energy in a positive direction…I got out our really tall ladder and an electric pressure washer, put on my walking shoes, carefully climbed up the steps of that great big, tall ladder and pressure washed/cleaned a skylight…ah ha…!!!… now we can see the clear blue sky through that skylight…talk about “one step at a time”….and literally being “balanced, steady and calm”…that ladder was tall! As I mentioned…one step at a time…. literally and figuratively : )

Great advice. And I love your comment too . . . one step at a time. Stay balanced.

  3. Maybe a good life philosophy… “one step at at time….stay balanced”….hmmmm…maybe that’s “the middle way”….balance….

I still work with patience. Sometimes I want to skip two steps at a time so messages like this are very helpful reminders.

    • Oh yes….patience. Recently, I seem to be vacillating between times of “inertia” when needing to get started and take a few steps, and other times of impatience, when I need break up large tasks and take steady sequential steps, individually.
I was thinking this morning…Marie, do you suppose that maybe “patience” might be slightly overrated??? 😉 … maybe what might be called “impatience” might at times be high levels of motivation and visions of what can be possible? I was encouraged yesterday (by both H. and from Jampa ) to perhaps not climb tall ladders when no one else is home…to wait for weekends…so, patience? prudence?…or independence, “can do” competence… hmmm….more to think about. Well, I guess “patience” might have many different implications and applications, depending on the situation?

Hmmmm… you are giving me more food for thought. Sometimes, I get excited about a project and do feel high energy and want things to move quickly and match my focus… However, when I want to get rid of a pattern of thinking or habit, etc.. I get impatient and want things to move faster. I get impatient if the computer slows down (it’s working wonderfully now) or if traffic is slow, but, since I am into mindful living I watch myself and many times I don’t fall back into my patient habits.. 😀

    • I’ve been thinking about patience today…Marie, maybe it’s one “word/quality” that gets applied to many varied situations. Hmmmm…I have some figuring out to do,too. Maybe a quick cost-benefit analysis for whether more patience would be helpful in a specific situations? Maybe I’d be so busy figuring that out that I’d fall into a state of patience by distracting myself. 😉

  7. Excellent words and “perspective,” and beautiful photos. I love the smooth stones. One step at time is always a good way to tackle any problems or obstacles, and a great way to enjoy living in the moment. It works both ways. 🙂

Love this. I admit I go for a while then I get frustrated and have to reset myself. Good idea about the pocket reminders. I have been thinking about doing something with my posts. Not sure what. one step at a time… 🙂 Just opening to the idea is a step I guess.
    Much love-
    Laurie
