Wonderful thoughts to keep under our wings when we feel a tinge of resistance.
Years ago one of my favorite magazines that I subscribed to at school was Teaching Tolerance. It really made my day when I saw it lying in my box.
Teaching Tolerance – what a great name for a magazine. Does this magazine still exist? How successful was it overall? Do you know of any places where TOLERANCE is being taught?
Isn’t that amazing, that such a thing happens? I didn’t realize at the time, but this post turns out/seems to be a “combination post”…maybe a “companion post” ???… with some ideas I posted on Reflections yesterday… the ideas from each combined in an interesting manner…with an unusual result!…a quiet mind…wow! unusual! http://reflectionsfromafriend.wordpress.com/2013/03/25/32513-to-wait-until-the-situation-is-more-settled-to-understand-it/
I’ve decided to call the sudden, unanticipated disappearance of “worries in the mind” and unexpected emergence of “a quiet mind” …. “poof” ….So apparently… “poof happens!” 😀
BUT, I don’t know HOW it happened… but it did.
Hi Becca, I’m happy to have it passed along… I think it might be one of the most “nurturing” reminders I’ve come up with…encouraging and reminding oneself to have the flexibility, again and again, to shift out of resistance or judging into benevolence… my new favorite word… “benevolent awareness”… lots of new pages with that one too. : ) Benevolence with oneself and others… : )
Very inspiring! I try to live this way, to be flexible, to let go of old ideas and ways of being that are no longer working but it’s a day to day process.
Oh, you’re very welcome…I’m happy to share. Looking at that suncatcher in the windows has really reminded, inspired and helped me to make some positive shifts with flexibly coming back to kindness, acceptance, compassion…I hope it might support others with that too.
You have a fascinating blog…what remarkable endeavors you’ve been a part of! ..really inspirational.
awe such a nice comment from you…thanks a lot dear…makes my day (its night here tho). But thanks really its nice to know the feedback from others as it helps to improve upon…keep in touch 🙂

Sounds like a wonderful magazine….it can be such a challenge to neutralize resistance or intolerance.

I don’t know about that magazine. Maybe Georgette will be back and can answer that.

You’re welcome…I’m happy to share. I have the last image, as a suncatcher, in several windows of our home…a helpful reminder for myself. I’m noticing some welcome changes, as I become more aware and repeatedly, and kindly, shift back into those more positive qualities on that image.
