I really like the cards! Yes indeed…balance! It’s not easy to find sometimes, particularly if each person isn’t invested in the “balancing act.” But it’s the goal, isn’t it? I don’t want to be prickly, but I can be sometimes! Good reminders. Debra

I am not blunt as I don’t like to hurt people’s feelings, so when I need to express a truth that may not be comfortable, I usually do my best to opt for diplomacy and start off with a positive statement. One example is, I have a friend of many years from my former place of work, who would email me almost daily with the drama of the day in her life, sometimes with profane language. This went on for months, until I finally, started off with a positive quality she has, which is she is loving and then told her that it was not to her advantage to focus on the negative. I gave her a little bit of the law of attraction lesson. She is not into the spirituality we understand, so had to be basic when explaining. When she did the drama focus again, I reminded her of being positive. It worked, she shifted quite a bit with her communications. š

Marie, what a wonderful example oh how to diffuse negativity in a calm and positive manner….you have a special ability there. I just mentioned your ideas to my h. …he has a tricky interaction going on with someone and your idea of starting with the positives might help. Thank you for adding this idea… š

This one really made me smile. It’s such a big challenge dealing with people in face to face, but online… ouch! is right. The written word is subject to so many interpretations, including the mood of the reader which can’t be predicted. I think that’s why I depend on emoticons so much. They can make faces for me. š

I agree…what potential challenges there can be, especially written. Porcupine quills can fly! Not being able to see facial expressions, hear vocal intonation or the ability to quickly perceive the other person’s reactions and moderate the delivery can lead to misperceptions, for sure…potential for “ouch!” Emoticons it is! š
