“What a wonderful world….”

What A Wonderful World
(sung by Louis Armstrong)

~

I see trees of green,
red roses, too.
I see them bloom,
for me and for you,
And I think to myself,
what a wonderful world.

~

I see skies of blue,
And clouds of white.
The bright blessed day,
The dark sacred night.
And I think to myself,
What a wonderful world.

~

The colors of the rainbow,
So pretty in the sky.
Are also on the faces,
Of people going by,
I see friends shaking hands.
Saying, “How do you do?”
They’re really saying,
“I love you”

~

I hear babies cry,
I watch them grow,
They’ll learn much more,
Than I’ll ever know.
And I think to myself,
What a wonderful world.

Yes, I think to myself,
What a wonderful world.

Oh yeah

A precious and important sentiment,
appreciating how fortunate we are to live in this remarkable world…
filled with such bounty,
nurturing and living with
… goodness, kindness, love…
so much to be thankful for…
what a wonderful world

    • Oh Joss, what a wonderful song to walk down the aisle to…what an incredible affirmation of life and your relationship! 😀
The words, feelings and sentiments in the song are an affirmation for our family now, too… 🙂 looking at the beauty, love and wonders in our lives!
(and coincidentally, right this very moment, speaking of the world…we’re making our taxi reservations to the SF airport for this Sunday’s flight to… Ireland… meeting friends for a 2 1/2 weeks in Ireland…other friends will be staying here in our home to take care things )

      • It’s a truly life filled song and one that speaks to me of joy and of walking in beauty.
I was thinking, just the other day, that your trip to Ireland must be coming up. How exciting. I will look forward to hearing all about it and seeing pictures. May it be a blessed time away. One of those “time out of time” trips.

  5. What a Wonderful World by the great Louis Armstrong has beautiful sentiments for all people.
It would be grand if all would live those words daily. A lovely sentiment for Nurturing Thursday.

Lovely! Thanks for sharing the lyrics too. The poetry of popular songs are so valid they’re worth reading on their own. And yes, his facial expressions are awesome. When I wanted to share this song on a post last year, this was the same one I chose as well. Wonderful minds think alike :).
Thanks for sharing this delightful post. Hugs, Gina

    • I love that song, too. I think the combination of insightful lyrics and the actual “music” offers the heart deeper, faster access to tender ideas…it goes right to the heart. And his facial expressions do provide such depth, access and delight to what he is singing, too. Thanks for sharing your ideas… I value them. 🙂
