We’re weaving our tomorrows… out of our todays…may we weave well….

Peter, Paul and Mary sang a song, Hurry Down Sundown,  with a line in it….

~

“Weave me tomorrow, out of today”

Perhaps, the idea of “weaving” might be  a bit like “knitting” this scarf… starting by choosing some beautiful yarn and an appealing pattern. And then “knitting”….each stitch developing out of a previous stitch and then leading to another stitch…knitting each stitch carefully and realizing that all of those carefully formed stitches  (and dropped stitches, too) are becoming a “section” and that each section is contributing to the next section and the next… leading to the beauty and integrity of the whole…. “weaving well….”

~

And…if any of those days feel like “beat-up, sundown days”…to get through those days  as steadily, courageously and skillfully as possible…continuing, as much as we can, with… “weaving well…..”

~

~

“weaving well”
the awareness, understanding and acceptance
that whatever we are choosing to do “today”
is significantly affecting and influencing…
….being “woven” into….
the quality of our “tomorrows”

And so….
trying, as much as possible and as often as possible…
to keep this awareness in mind

~

may we weave well….

I really love Peter, Paul and Mary, but I don’t think I recall this song. I’m going to check it out. The thought that even the ‘dropped stitches’ are part of weaving our tomorrows. Such a lovely contemplation!

    • Thank you, hugmamma….yes, things are well….many things went on this fall, but now I think there’s a steadiness, sense of deep gratitude and steadiness arriving…blessings, indeed!
