For the past several years, I’ve been part of an email network that passes along nurturing and encouraging “Friday Wishes.” By the time Friday afternoon arrives, I’m often worn out from the work week…and my own light sometimes feels close to out….I have a wonderful job, but it can be wearing.
Thankfully, each Friday afternoon,
kind and encouraging wishes arrive
and provide such wonderful comfort and sustenance.
~
And so….
I pass along a flame,
or maybe it’s just a breeze….
to contribute to rekindling the flames within each of you…
and offer my own deepest thanks to so many
who pass along your own flame or bit of a breeze
that rekindles that flame
within the rest of us…
thank you
~

My thanks to Kate, at Believe Anyway, for that wonderful quote and her beautiful post.
For anyone who might like to pass “Friday Wishes” along to others….
there is a thumbnail image above and at the top of the right hand “Posts” column…
please feel free to copy and paste that image into your own posts or columns….
if you’d like to pass a few of your own “Friday Wishes…”along to others…
perhaps a few encouraging words… a nice quote… a photo…a poem….a special song…
a movie suggestion….a bit of humor…a website… a good book….
whatever “language” each of us might use to express our ideas…
anything that might warm the heart of another
Lovely post. Thank you. I’m ready for the weekend now. 🙂

It’s a wonderful way to offer or receive some rekindling…. : ) btw…that word “kindle”….I wonder what the root word is???…kin?…connections with others; kind??…is that from the root “kin”….off I go to check out that question…. : )

I’m back….”kin”….Origin:before 900; Middle English; Old English cyn; cognate with Old Saxon, Old High German kunni, Old Norse kyn, Gothic kuni; akin to Latin genus, Greek génos, Sanskrit jánas… all you might ever want to know about kin or kind http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Origin_of_the_word_kind : )

We heat our house with wood and I’ve often thought of writing a blog post about how one log encourages the other to burn bright. hmm, maybe I will do that today. Great inspiration, as always.

thanks for writing that Joss…your post is wonderful…
And as far as this idea…one idea leads to another leads to another leads to another….it just travels along…no need to reference back. I got the quote from Kate at Believe Anyway and she probably found it someplace else…I love how ideas travel!
I’ d love to see different posters ways of expressing this idea of adding kindling or oxygen…I’m guessing there would be really intriguing variations doing this…art, photos, poems, essays, humor….varying so much with each blogger’s own “style”

What a great idea. We could use this at school. I think I’ll do the same at school. Thanks for the idea.

We MUST have others to rekindle our lights–they are sent from above, I believe, when HE knows we are flickering out! I love the Friday Wishes network idea!

Maybe a small “Friday wishes” part of people’s Friday blog posts would be special…some people are such beautiful and expressive writers, other photographers…others music…whatever medium one is able to express their own nourishing ideas….a rekindling of spirits?

Thank you for your own idea of sharing and encouraging…I just added a “Friday Wishes” image to the top of this post and the top right hand posts column…in case anyone else would like to use that idea in their own blog…to pass along whatever others might appreciate…a few encouraging words, a song, a photo, a poem….however one “speaks” to others…

I think share a scripture and embrace with a hug does wonders for the soul. Sharing God’s word by giving someone a scripture to meditate on is refreshing. Thank you for sharing your ideas, such a blessing to think of others.
