Seeking… “peace and harmony….”

I wish there were airplanes flying in the sky above all of us each day…
offering this suggestion…
making  this wish…
promoting  this intention…
Oh, for continual peace and harmony…

~

I love it when people are getting along…
peacefully and harmoniously….
But, sometimes, that just doesn’t seem to happen.
No matter how much I want that,  it sometimes just doesn’t happen.
No matter how hard I try, it sometimes just doesn’t happen.
Sometimes…that just doesn’t happen.
And at those times, I feel helpless…
I just can’t get others, or myself,  to shift…

~

I read the following selection, “How to live with what is”  on the blog, Mindfulness Balance, a daily mindfulness quotation site…..and it resonated deeply with what  I’m also realizing…

I think that might be a key….
to sometimes let go of trying to understand WHY things are the way they are…
still to see WHAT they are,
but to let go of always trying to understand the “why?”
of people or interactions or situations…
Rather, to learn to live in harmony with things…
To learn….tolerance….patience….acceptance…

~

To learn to live with that aspiration from my previous post…
To be able to sincerely and honestly say….
“I bless you
I release you
I set you free
I allow you to be you, and me to be me…”

~

Learning, as needed,
to  live with acceptance of how things are
to learn the wisdom of  “chochma”
~”chochma”~
~what is~
to learn to live in harmony with what is
to recognize when it’s time to stop resisting what is,
when it’s time to learn to live in harmony with what seems to be….
when it’s time to just accept what is, in that moment…
“chochma”

I’m getting ready to click the “Publish” button.…and an old song just came on the radio…by The Youngbloods…a song I really like…

“Come on people now, smile on each other,
everybody get together, try to love one another
right now, right now, right now”

….and sometimes the only way to do that is to….accept….

~

A few more minutes later…and even more surprising…my own brother, who is a very kind and loving person and has some difficulties, just called from outside, from a payphone, thousands of miles away…..to  wish me a happy new year….does anyone believe in the universe, or something  sending messages?…… “chochma”…tears are rolling down my face….

Added  several more minutes later…I just remembered…the lines to that song …it’s NOT “smile on each other”……it’s “smile on your brother….”…. I am ……and I do….may we all find happiness, love, safety and peace of mind…

I’m going to add the actual lyrics to the song…just because the synchronicities are so odd..

Love is but a song we sing
fears’ the way we die
You can make the mountains ring
or make the angels cry

Though the dove is on the wing
and you may not know why

*Come on people now
smile on your brother
everybody get together
and try to love one another right now

Some may come and some may go
He will surely pass
When the one that left us here
returns for us at last
We are but a moment’s sunlight
fading in the grass

*Come on people now
smile on your brother
everybody get together
and try to love one another right now

If you hear the song I sing
you will understand…listen
You hold the key to love and fear
all in your trembling hand
Just one key unlocks them both
Its there at your command

*Come on people now
smile on your brother
Everybody get together
try to love one another right now

I said…..

*Come on people now
smile on your brother
Everybody get together
try to love one another right now
right now
right now

Kathy, The idea of a plane carrying a banner with the message of peace and harmony is a fantastic one! Wonder why no one has yet done this yet. It would be so awesome to see this! 🙂

It’s amazing how when you were about to publish this post, the song comes on and then your brother calls. I see it as you connecting to that peace and love energy field by your intention and focus; not only did the universe respond by sending the song, but your brother picked up this loving energy from many miles away. We are all connected, we affect one another collectively, reason why when we become peace and love we are doing the world a great service. My eyes got wet when I read about your brother’s call.

BTW, with the new WP blog/website I am doing, my main focus is “wisdom” and my website’s tag line is “the gift of wisdom and love”, so this post is a very good message and pointer for me. Thank you for this. 🙂

    • Thanks for those soothing ideas Marie. Just as the post was about…I tend to slip into “Now WHY did that happen? That didn’t make sense….what’s going on that such overlap happened there?” …isn’t that something?…I did that same thing that I’m wanting to learn to NOT do…trying to find common sense explanations for things that might not fall within that range or that can’t be explained …a work in progress here. : ) And yes, it was lovely to hear from my brother…
And your new blog…what a wonderful combination…what more wonderful gift could there be than wisdom and love?…..now that would be the 2 wings of the bird, too… : ) And I suppose the perspective in the post and the telephone call tie together wisdom and compassion/love too…I guess maybe so. Thank you Marie for your ideas…I really appreciate them.

How COOL that your brother called.

Like Marie, I do believe that we are all tied together on the Universal Internet. When we send positive vibrations (thoughts of loving kindness and compassion) winging through space . . . we often get them back in surprise “gifts” . . . like hearing your brother’s voice.

Love that wisdom = what is.

I often remind myself that the “what is” IS . . . if we accept that, we stop struggling with the “why’s” that we cannot answer.

How we relate to the issue (the “what Is”) IS the issue.

    • Yes, it was wonderful to hear his voice.
And I guess there must be some type of Universal Internet….I don’t know how else that post, the song and the call could have happened…I’m thankful that it did.
And yes…the idea of “wisdom= what is”…I can read it, I can hear it but it’s more difficult to get it to really go in and to live it…but I figure with intention, time and practice it will…and that’s what I’ll give it.

  3. A beautiful and thoughtful follow-up to your previous post. A basic and true principle. We need to harness the ability to know what is. What is. Is the only reality. Thanks for a wonderful inspiring lesson.

    • Yes…it was quite a “lesson” for me too….inadvertently containing a problem, a solution and a real time, real life example…all about learning to accept “what is”…I hope it might hold some ideas for others, too, whatever their own challenges might be… Happy that you found it helpful… : )

Kathy, When I started watching Satsang videos by Papaji who was an enlightened teacher and very loving, he would tell his students to leave the mind outside the door; to listen to him while keeping the mind quiet. And I started doing this when listening to spiritual concepts that are way beyond a logical understanding because there are many things that cannot be understood with the mind, one can only experience them, and “see” them with clarity, and then we watch how our reality starts to shift with this new awareness.

My paternal grandmother’s maiden name was Youngblood! That is what made me first listen to this song many years ago! I am so thankful for that particular bit of serendipity, that “what is.” These words, “When the one that left us here returns for us at last” is WHY we should love our brother and sister everywhere all the time. It is not WHAT IS; it is WHAT WILL BE that draws our hearts upward into the Light.
