I don’t want to live on the moon…. I’ll dance on a moonbeam and then come home once again

I Don’t Want to Live on the Moon

So if I should visit the moon
Well, I’ll dance on a moonbeam and then
I will make a wish on a star
And I’ll wish I was home once again
Though I’d like to look down at the earth from above
I would miss all the places and people I love
So although I may go I’ll be coming home soon
‘Cause I don’t want to live on the moon
No, I don’t want to live on the moon…….

This is one of my favorite songs…
I loved it when I used to watch it
with my daughter
when she was a little girl…
And I still love it…
it truly touches my heart…

I am so truly thankful for all the places and people I love…

A few hours after this was posted: ahhhh…a huge, beautiful, very close to  full moon is shining in through the window right now…sooooo beautiful….I may not want to live there, but I sure love gazing up at it…sooooo beautiful….

I have a big, big smile as I am typing this. I loved the graphics of the words against the moon background and the Youtube. 🙂 The message of appreciating what we have in our lives and not what’s on the other side of fence is always a good reminder. Will share in Facebook.

  2. It is a wonderful song, isn’t it.
Oddly enough, even though I love it, and it often brings a smile to my face to, it sometimes seems to bring tears to my eyes when I read it or hear it…there seems to be a touching poignancy to it…maybe it’s the idea of finding a balance between the wonders of the outside world and the comfort, happiness and love at home.
(Maybe, partly, it’s also so sad that Jim Henson died from such a curable illness and didn’t get to come home to the people and places he loved.)

AWWWW, I loved this song as a child! Brings back memories, singing along to all the sesame street songs everyday after school : ) Arron Neville and Ernie (with no sexual orientation) sound so good together…I can listen to this over and over like a lullaby…Highlight of my day Thanks Kathy!

Liked the Sesame Street clip…Brings back memories of raising my own daughters. I’m going to share that in our kindergarten classroom. Calming and peaceful music…
